Simple Nutella Macarons
Ingredients:
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
- 3 large egg whites
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup Nutella spread
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 300F 150C
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
In a food processor, pulse almond flour and powdered sugar until well combined
In a large bowl, whisk 2 egg whites until foamy
Gradually add granulated sugar and continue whisking until stiff peaks form
Fold the almond flour mixture into the egg whites until you get a smooth, shiny batter
Transfer the batter to a piping bag with a round tip and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheet
Tap the baking sheet on the counter a few times to remove air bubbles
Let the macarons rest for about 15-30 minutes until a skin forms on the surface
Bake the macarons in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes until they are set but not browned
Remove from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheet
Once cooled, spread a small amount of Nutella on the flat side of a macaron and sandwich it with another macaron
Repeat with the remaining macarons and Nutella filling
Serve and enjoy!
